How to Export from Binance
Binance's web interface lets you export trade history per product line (Spot, Futures, Margin) in 3-month chunks. If your trading history spans longer, run multiple exports — Foliolytic merges them automatically.
Spot: Orders → Spot Order → Trade History
Click Export in the top right, set your date range (max 3 months per export), and download. Repeat for each 3-month window to cover your full history.
Futures: Orders → Futures Order → Trade History
Same 3-month window limit. The realized P&L column is what Foliolytic uses — unrealized positions are evaluated at current mark price when you upload.
Earn & Staking: Wallet → Transaction History
Staking rewards and Binance Earn payouts appear in the main transaction history export. Foliolytic parses them as income inflows and counts them toward total return.

Metrics Computed from Your Binance Trades
Binance's built-in portfolio tab shows current balance and 24h percent change. Foliolytic turns the same trade history into a full institutional risk report:
- Returns: XIRR (money-weighted), CAGR, time-weighted, realized vs unrealized, per-trade P&L attribution.
- Risk-adjusted: Sharpe ratio against real Treasury yields, Sortino, Treynor, Information Ratio.
- Drawdown: maximum drawdown, drawdown duration, recovery time, the five worst drawdowns of your trading history.
- Market sensitivity: beta and alpha vs BTC, vs ETH, vs Bitwise Crypto Index, vs S&P 500.
- Tail risk: VaR at 95% and 99%, CVaR (expected shortfall), skewness, kurtosis.
- Attribution: per-coin contribution to return and to risk — shows which tokens hurt you and which carried the portfolio.

How do I export my trade history from Binance?
On Binance web, go to Orders → Spot Order → Trade History. Click Export in the top right, set your date range (Binance limits exports to 3-month windows, so you may need several exports for a full history), and download. The CSV includes every filled buy and sell with timestamp, price, quantity, and trading fee.
What about Binance Futures, Margin, and Earn?
Binance Futures exports are available under Orders → Futures Order. The realized P&L CSV works directly with Foliolytic. Margin trades export similarly from the Margin trading section. For Binance Earn and Staking, use the transaction history export from your wallet — rewards appear as income inflows with zero cost basis and are correctly counted in XIRR and total return.
Binance limits exports to 3 months. How do I analyze a longer history?
Run multiple exports, each covering a 3-month window, going back as far as your trading history extends. Upload them all at once — Foliolytic merges them into a single timeline. Binance's API allows longer export windows if you generate a read-only API key; you can also fetch historical data via third-party tools that use the API and export to CSV.
Does Foliolytic handle non-USD base pairs like BTC or BUSD?
Yes. Binance trades are often denominated in USDT, USDC, BUSD, or BTC rather than USD. Foliolytic resolves every trade to USD using the exchange rate at the timestamp of each fill, using daily price data from its own database covering 440+ cryptocurrencies. Your P&L, XIRR, and risk metrics are all computed in USD.
Does Foliolytic store my Binance trade data?
No. Your CSV is parsed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to Foliolytic's servers unless you explicitly click Save Portfolio, which generates a private URL only you can access. No API keys, no signup, no email required.
